Flute and Trumpet unable to reduce reverb

Hello, In 3.5 that I use since 26-08-24 The flute and trumpet play back with too much reverb for a correct timing of jazz phrases. I’ve made Stage and Space templates and applied them, tried to reduce the reverb by the slides. I also entered Reverence in the channel strips and tried to edit dialogue. Fumbled with the percentages and tried to activate another room (Traversal studio). I noticed that the green triangle does not produce a click which it did with e.g. the saxophones. What do I do, or is, wrong?

Dorico 3.5? Surely not.

Which Flute and Trumpet – Iconica, HSO…?

It’s very hard to diagnose from a description – ideally a sample document, or a screenshot of the mixer, at the very least.

Thanks for responding and your availability to help. Of course it is Dorico 5. (I just happened to see a video of 3.5). I’ve included an upload of my ‘Dorico-learning’ project in which I experiment with the information of manuals and video’s. I hope that clarifies the question.

Oh, the instruments are HSO flute solo and HSO trumpet solo. In essence the instruments sound very good. If I only can get them dryer…

I think it’s the Iconica Sketch instruments you’re using in your project, Leonard, and they are somewhat roomy by design. The Iconica Sketch sounds use a mixture of the close and room mics, so there’s always going to be some reverb that you cannot control.

Thanks, Daniel. If it were only ‘some’ reverb. So, Iconica sketch is not fit for jazz. It is like playing in a cathedral. But ok, if that’s the problem I think I found an option in Iconica Ensembles where the mic at ‘close small’ gives the desired result. With a compliment to the sampled musician. The tone is really beautiful.
I hope I can edit the trumpet in Ensembles in the same way.
