Enter the two notes as normal. Select the bottom note and right-click>notehead>diamonds>white-diamond notehead. Select the top note and change its property to natural harmonic.
Thank you!!
Thank you. But then how to make dashed (dotted?) ties connecting the diamond notes? That is, the fundamental is staying the same.
Iām a flutist and have used flute harmonics frequently over the years. For Dorico, this seems to get even more complicated if there need to be actual (not dotted) ties among the sounding harmonic notes, as in this example. (Full disclosure: 33-year Finale user. Not currently trying to Doricate the above passage but something similar ā though less wild.)
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere in a tie discussion.
You should be able to select the first one, then press T several times to tie them all.
Then in the bottom panel, change the appearance of the tie to be dashed.
Lovely! Thank you very much. I have done it.
I guess this was really a tie question, so I should have found a more appropriate place to post. And now I see that this has been part of my general struggle with ties in Dorico.
Thanks again.
