Flutes change from 1 staff to 2 staves and back --- why

Hi everybody,
I know my brain is probably just fried after a day of editing. But I can’t figure out why in this movement, the flutes condense to 1 staff sometimes, but divide to 2 staves other times. I know I am using various condensing changes here, but even when I delete or change them, I can’t seem to get the issue to resolve. I’m attaching the Dorico flow here to where this is happening. Specifically, why does bar 43-44 (which contains no notes) split to 2 staves in the flute part?

I don’t have a definite answer, but try the following:

In the Full Score layout, select the rest in either bar 43 or 44 in the Flute 2 part and press Delete.
When I did that, the Flutes condensed onto one staff.

OMG! That worked! I don’t totally understand why. I look carefully a few minutes ago at the measures for both of those parts, and didn’t see anything at all entered, so I thought it couldn’t be some mismatch of the parts. But you’re right – pressing delete in that bar worked! It’s weird because this second movement is the only movement on this piece where I’m having this problem. Thank you so much!

The only thing I can think of is that some of the rests are explicit and others are implicit, so “deleting” them would make them all implicit, thus removing any difference between the two Flutes.
To fix any other similar occurrences, you might need to select and delete the rests in both Flute parts.
