Folder export

Good day

Is there a way in N13 that you can select Folders and export them similar to selecting individual channels?
It will be immensely helpful esp. with MNE and stems exports?

Thanks
Janno

Folders are only for organizational purposes.
You can use groups (buses) for export.

Hi Steffen

Thanks for the response.
It would be super handy if you could select folders in the same way as groups and export multiple folders at the same time
Example.
I have all my different tracks arranged in folders called Optional A-E. The tracks in these folders are not necessarily routed to the same groups. In order to export each folder, I solo the folder and export each folder one at a time.
I know I can set up an export workflow in exports dialogue, But it would have been great if you could select multiple folders and export them at the same time.

Why can’t the effect plugin be inserted into the folder, which is ridiculous

A folder carries no signal, there is no use for an FX without a signal.

If you need to treat a summed signal with FX use groups.

You mean like protools?, the folder also can be a kind of group.
It’ll be very useful.

Unless the folders do double duty as also groups (i.e. with the tracks inside flowing through one common group which is now the folder) it won’t be practical. The system would have to create multiple copies of any groups being doubled up in the entire mix otherwise the exports wouldn’t be “clean”.

The alternative would be to allow mute or solo states in the export dialog and then set up a batch export.

Best practice though at least in post production is to route signals to groups or buses where they belong and then export by selecting those groups/buses.
