I think the folder / group channels are an amazing addition.
Would be an extra if we could position them in the mix console like we can the other channels.
Using the three dots for left, centre or right.
I agree about this new feature being a superb addition. I’m just using them for the first time (waited for a sale to upgrade to the latest version). The thing that doesn’t feel right for me is that the group channel is to the left of the participant channels in the mixer view. Psychologically, it seems (to me anyway) that sound flows from left to right. So, it seems like the folder/group channel should be on the immediate right of the participants, not the left. Hopefully this will not seem awkward after I’ve had time to get used to the new feature.
It reflects the order of the tracks in the track list. Maybe that helps you to wrap your mind around it.
Yep 100 percent. Before the folder / group addition I always had my group channel at the end (right) of the routed channels, always made sense like you said.
Maybe in the next upgrade Steinberg could at least give us the option.

I’m curious as to whether there’s even a small percentage of Cubase users who routinely put group channels to the left of routed channels. I’d bet there is not.
Where would the individual channels of the tracks inside the folder appear?
I would say to the left of the group.
I think the issue here is do you see the Folder / Group as more folder or more group.
In the project window the track order is folder then individual tracks (open folder).
But in the mixer it’s more common to have the individual channels before the Group that they are routed to.
The best solution (IMO) is an option to change the order in the mixer.
