I’m having an issue with the Chord Track in Cubase.
The Follow dropdown menus for all my VSTi tracks — whether they contain MIDI data or not — are Off and not clickable.
The Chord Track itself is also stuck on “Use Monitored Track”, and I cannot change it to any other Follow mode.
I’m sure I’m missing something obvious, but I can’t figure out what is locking these options.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

I just ran into something similar. But after poking around I realized that I could change some tracks & not others. The difference turned out to be I could only change it on the Tracks that had a MIDI Part (even empty) on the Track. However on the Tracks I couldn’t change the “Off” dropdown was greyed out. While in your pic it looks normal. Also I can freely change the follow mode.
If this behavior is intentional, it would really help if Cubase gave the user some kind of feedback instead of silently disabling the feature. When you’re in the middle of writing music, having no indication of why something isn’t available can completely break the creative flow.
If it’s not a bug, then at least a tooltip or message explaining the requirement would save users a lot of frustration.
