Since I installed Dorico 6, the Project and Flow titles in both Dorico 5 and Dorico 6 no longer appear in Academico, but in a sans serif font. The same happens with Gradual and Immediate Tempo Text.
When I open the file on my laptop, where Dorico 6 is not yet installed, everything appears normally in Academico.
Could you attach a small example project that demonstrates the problem?
Are you on Windows? Have you restarted the computer after install?

Thanks, Richard. I deleted the demo file since the problem is solved in the meantime.
I have a similar font issue with the Nepomuk font not showing any lower-case letters except in Italic. Regular shows only upper-case letters for that particular font. Itās been my default text font in Dorico for years now.
Iād suggest disabling/removing the SC versions of Nepomuk, as you can access the OpenType features now in the standard fonts. Then restart.
Yes, on Windows. After restarting the computer all is fine. For some reason it seems to be necessary to restart the computer after installing Dorico 6. I donāt remember this being the case with previous upgrades. Thanks, benwiggy!

In my case, deleting the SC versions, then rebooting, did nothing. Iām still getting all caps versions of Nepomuk.
From what I understand, itās more to do with Windows caching and handling of newly installed fonts.

Still not solved for me.
I re-installed the very latest version of the Nepomuk font, rebooted the computer (twice) and am still getting all-caps only on the āregularā version of the font. The font works fine in my other programs (word processor, layout software, publishing software, etcā¦) but for some reason, Dorico refuses to see the āregularā version of the font and only sees the small-caps version, or the Italic version.
Have you tried removing the Nepomuk SC font from your system? As @benwiggy said earlier in the thread, you donāt need it.

Does windows have a way to clear the font cache?

The easiest way to clear the font cache in Windows 11:
Open the Run dialog Box (Win + R)
type āservices.mscā to open the Services window
Locate the āWindows Font Cache Serviceā
Right-Click the Service and select āStopā
This will disable the service temporarely and clears the font cache
āRestartā the service.
Iāve done that, and Iām still getting all caps when I use Nepomuk.
(and yes, I mentioned removing the SC versions of my fonts earlier in this thread)
Could the Paragraph Style be set to All Caps?
nope, itās set to regular.
Iām not sure if this issue is related, but in the Missing Fonts dialog Dorico 6 is telling me that some font styles were used in an earlier project that actually do not exist on my Windows system (e.g. only Regular is installed; Bold doesnāt exist):
But when I open this project in Dorico 5 and browse for the fonts used, I see that this particular font style is shown as available and freely selectable:
So, I opened the Character Map UWP app (an enhanced version of Windows Character Map), and it lists this font as only existing in a Regular style, but that three āSimulatedā styles, whatever that is, are available: Oblique, Bold and Bold Oblique. These Simulated styles no longer show in Dorico 6 and only the actual installed font style is shown and selectable.
This is super confusing, Iād love to understand whatās happening, if possible.
Thereās a bit about this in the Version History (and in the SN review).
Windowsā font management is very weird, to say the least. As youāll know, it insists that every font only has four styles: Regular, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic. Any other styles are counted as separate fonts, which each must have their own obligatory four styles. If a font doesnāt have all those four styles, Windows āsimulatesā them. (e.g. thickens all the strokes, or slants the characters).
Dorico 6 has decided to āenforceā a more Mac way of listing fonts, so that āMinion Bold Condensed Caption Italicā is the āBold Condensed Caption Italicā style of āMinionā, rather than the Bold Italic style of āMinion Condensed Captionā. (Or something.)
This makes moving files between iPad, Mac and Windows much easier. It also prevents problems in PDFs. But it also means that you canāt use simulated styles.
From what I can tell, there is no Bold font of Theano Modern. You may want to try the free font family āOld Standardā, which is similar (possibly by the same author), and which has a Bold and Italic.

Thanks, this is very helpful! This is a good opportunity to replace and updates fonts (such as this one, that I no longer use).
I would guess that simulated styles are what apps like Word and Excel and PowerPoint use on Windows to create Bold, Italic etc when those styles are not available in the installed font. Just out of curiosity - is this simulation not possible on a Word for Mac?
Itās not an option, no.
Ironically, the original āBeigeā MacOS used to allow synthesising styles, including Outlining and Shadow, but it looked obviously rubbish and dated as font technology improved, and it was didnāt make it into MacOS X.
