Fonts Missing Message

Hi -

I’m using Bodini72 Oldstyle on a Dorico 5.1.6 file and I get a message that the font is missing on my iMac, but it appears in Dorico once I’ve opened the file. It’s in the font selections when I enter text in Dorico and in other applications such as Pages. But I only get the missing font message in Dorico. This has happened with other fonts in Dorico as well. Is there something I’m missing?

2017 iMac, Ventura 13.7

Thanks,

Gary

It may mean that somewhere the file asks for italics or the like and the font-face file does not contain a true (native) italic version of the font.

The style that is missing is “Regular”.

Bodoni 72 Old Style does not have a “Regular” style, which is the default setting for many of Dorico’s Font Styles and Paragraph Styles.

In the Missing Fonts dialog, you can select the Book style under the Replacement Style column (don’t forget to also choose Bodoni 72 Oldstyle under the Replacement Family column as well).

Thanks! When I reopened the file and completed the Missing Fonts dialog, several text entries which were originally italicized reverted to Book plain. It seemed random because they were all entered in the same way. I fixed them and it appears to be stable now. Cheers.
