OH WAIT! What’s up with the Bravura font letters?
Sorry, I use Dorico with German-translated GUI. My translation error. I meant „Default music text font“ should be set to „BopMusic“, and „Default text font“ should be set to „BopMusic Alpha“ (in the case of your screenshot).
But what’s up with Bravura then? Could you provide a screenshot?
You are missing or have an incorrect font chosen as your music font.
It appears like you are using a corrupted Bravura font. ![]()
Please try reinstalling Dorico to resolve the Bravura problem.
If the issue persists, again you can share your Dorico project here, I think it can be fixed.
It’s probably a corrupted font cache, rather than the font itself. I would restart the computer. Also check in Font Book that you don’t have more than one copy of the font enabled.
I trashed the old Dorico 6.1.10 and downloaded it again and installed the same version, and there’s no change. Is there a process I need to do to totally trash the currupted font?
This wasn’t a problem until this latest update.

If I am not mistaken, all the fonts are in /Library/Fonts on a mac. (This is the general library, not the user one)
@dgriderjr Can you pm me your dorico project?
Orchestra .dorico (3.4 MB)
Here’s a template.
The first display, I think you’re right.
The second display is as you say (Disk or hard drive/Library/Fonts
Looks OK here.

Looks OK here too.
If the fonts are correctly installed, and you’ve tried restarting, then you’ll need to manually clear the font cache.
You can do this by typing the following command into the Terminal:
sudo atsutil databases -remove
You will need to supply an admin user password, and then Restart your Mac.
Bear in mind that you should never blindly type what strange men on the internet tell you, so please satisfy yourself what this will do. A search for “Mac clear font cache” will return pages with similar instructions, such as this one:
Appreciate this warning !
And because these days internet search results are often polluted with AI hallucinations, I would recommend the manual pages by typing this in Terminal.
man atsutil
Which offcourse is another command recommended by a strange man ![]()
So I cleaned the cache, restarted the computer and this is the result. Anyother ideas?
Here’s the specks on my computer.
Have you tried logging into another user account or the guest account on your mac, to see if the font problem persists?
I haven’t used Font Book on macOS for a while but I know it lets you run checks on your installed fonts.
