Isn’t it the Paragraph style→Tempo (Metronome mark)?

I thought so too but it doesn’t seem to match on my end. I’ve turned my machine off for the night and so I’ll double-check tomorrow.
It should be. If I change that Style, e,g to Bold, then the equal sign changes accordingly.
The only other style is the Character Style for the Music symbol, and that only affects the note symbol.
Thanks everyone.
I did try the Metronome Mark Paragraph Style but I must have got my order of operations mixed up.
This is what I got:
All I had to do was remove and re-enter the glyphs as before, and I was done.
Is there a way to input the note value glyphs directly using the MM Paragraph Style (a la MusGlyphs) without having to do any right-clicking? I’m aware that metronome marks use the MM Music Text character style for these glyphs but I don’t really know how to make use of that in this case.
You can write tempo equations of this sort in the Tempo popover.
What are you trying to achieve?
You need two styles: one music font for the note symbols; and one text font for the equals sign. Selecting the notes and changing them to a text font will cause problems, as shown.
You apply the character style to the note characters to make them match exactly. I always follow the steps from @asherber 's post below (and revisit that post from time to time to make sure I get the sequence right
). It’s not without right clicking but it gets the job done every time.
I wanted a tempo equation within system text - with identical formatting to the default tempo equations.
Yes, this is the bit that got me. Thanks for the clarification.
That would have been useful in the search results of “tempo equation font”! At least I made it to Oz in the end.
