One thing that you want to check and Steinberg should add into his problem solving about the common no sound from MediaBay is, if you use headphones:
(assuming you have set your Control Room properly)
Go under Preferences → Control Room → Use phones channel as preview channel!
This way you can use both headphones, Control Room and MediaBay.
