Hi all,
In this passage I want to the winds to cut off on beat four with a dotted half note for the first three beats which works fine until I attempt to tie the notes together. I’ve gone through the different options in the ‘notation options’ menu but can’t seem to find the solution. Am I potentially missing something here?

Do you mean like this?
If so, select the force durations button in the left panel (small clamp icon) then re-enter your notes. There may be other ways but this does the job.
