Formatting_Removing (and adding) blank space between bars

Hi!
I have imported a musicXMl-file from a friend into Dorico, and I want to remove these blank spaces between the bars. I assume it has something to do with the way my friend formatted his sheetmusic.
This space-problem appears after bar 30 in the piece.
(And if I add 10 extra bars in for example bar 15 and forward, even then all the bars after bar 30 turns out this way (one bar / space / one bar / space etc.)
HOW DO I REMOVE THIS LAYOUT (I want it to look “the normal way”)
BUT ALSO - This is very useful for example when I make music theory tests for my students - so I also want to know how to add these spaces!
Thank you!

Hi @mallemalin, those are probably created with hidden Codas. To remove them, make sure your Signposts are visible (from menu View/Signposts), and delete them:

If you want to create such spaces, just add a Coda where desired (from the right panel > Repeat Structures, or using the popover on a barline for example: Shift+R > coda, and hide it from the Properties panel), and you can also adjust the gap in Engrave mode Properties panel, selecting the signpost/s or the coda symbol, first:

Hi
Oh, but the Signposts are visible, so that isn´t a solution :frowning:

@mallemalin
Ok, look if the Repeat Markers are checked:

Otherwise probably this was setup with customised page templates, or frame editing directly on the layout:

example of customised first page template:

Please post the Dorico project file here, so we can give a deeper explanation about the used setup.
