forward/rewind does not work on cubase 6

Hi.
I work with Cubase 6 For about 3 years.
resently I installed it on my Laptop (I7, 16GB RAM) and all worked fine.
The problem now is that I can’t fast-forward or rewind with the key commands !
When I select either function, by pressing + or -, the corresponding button lights up but nothing happens. It doesn’t matter whether I open an existing project or use one of the default templates.
I think it worked before and suddenly stopped working…

Any help in this would be much appreciated.

what operating system? I’m trying out Windows 10 for the first time and I have the exact symptoms. Transport lights up when I hit the numeric pad +/- but cursor doesn’t move…

I’m on Cubase 8.0.30
