Right now I can only map pre gain, EQs & Lo/Hi pass filters. Would like the option to map the gate, compressor, saturation & transient designer to quick controls and generic midi devices.

You already can control almost, everything with quick controls and midi device inside channel editor.
Maybe you mis something ?
You are correct. I realized you have to first enable all the strip sections for them to show up on the list of available quick controls. You can then turn them off and they continue to show up.
