I frequently use the trick of changing the Above/Below staff modifier when certain elements of the score cause Rehearsal Marks or Tempos, etc., to go flying above the staff and mucking up staff spacing in Engrave Mode.
Example of how I currently use this functionality: a Cue label above a staff causes the Tempo to flying, so I set it to be Below the staff, which causes the Tempo marking to be put back into its normal position. Then I can move the cue label, if desired, back above the staff to an appropriate position, or leave it below the staff, where it does not interfere with staff spacing.
I would like to add a Feature Request for this Above/Below functionality to also be added to Instrument Change Labels and Instrument Change Warnings, for the same purpose.
