[FR] freeform placement of lines/arrows in write mode

I know this might be controversial to ask for engrave-mode-like possibilities within write mode, but I really wish there was a button I could toggle or a modifier key I could hold down while placing lines or arrows within write mode to get temporary freeform access to place lines precisely. Similar to how in apps like Photoshop/Illustrator you can hold down a key to toggle a constrained or snapping behavior for temporary freeform control. Or you can easily toggle in the menu from a snapping to free behavior.

It’s been awhile since I used Sibelius, but I think they call it something like magnetic layout. What’s nice here is you can disable the “magnetic” behavior on an object basis. Where Dorico is always “magnetic” within write mode, it would be great if I could select an object, go down to the inspector panel, and un-tether it manually while remaining within write mode. Or to be able to toggle on/off the “magnetic” behavior within write mode.

For the occasional one-off line it’s not a big deal to switch over to engrave mode, but when I’m working on a piece where I need to add lots of arrows, constantly having to switch to engrave mode for precise alignment is kind of a pain and breaks creative flow - so my idea is not to replace the function of engrave mode, but to have temporary freeform access while writing for quick and intuitive work. Thank you!
