FR - Import folder structure to pool

I see other requests in the Beta forum dating back to 2005. I agree and here’s the summary…

We need a process for importing folder-structure into the Pool. I have a folder with subfolders containing audio files. I want these in my pool (not Media Bay) and will be using them in my project…. but I must retain the file structure. There are 2500 files. I cannot reorganize them into folders manually.

This doesn’t seem possible, which is surprising. Formally request we be able to drag a folder to the pool, and have it IMPORT into the project and retain it’s folder structure inside the Pool/Project

That is what the Library is made for.
Library is a Pool that isn’t attached to a specific project and that you can open in any other project.

For example, when you are working on a TV series, some of the SFX needs to be reused over and over again.
This is what it looks like:

But does it travel with the project and copy the files for destructive processing into the project folder? We’re creating a SFX library. We have a lot of RAW samples. The project in question will be used to create new designs from copies of the original wav. Once created, the project is shared across a team of designers (each with their own independent copy of the project and files). Each should have copies of the files locally.

I guess we could make a Library and ship that separately from their active design projects? Then they can import the library… but does it copy the files into their working pool or reference the files in the Library? How does this manage destructive processing at the project level?

Works just like the Pool. At your choice.
We create a (common files) folder within the series folder.
So you can share these Libraries to your likings.
