FR: LV Tie position option

Since the preferred way to show a tie into something like a 2nd ending or coda is to use an LV Tie placed in front of the first note, when adding an LV Tie to a note, could we have an option to position it either before or after the selected note? Yes, I know it can be manually moved in Engrave mode, but this would be a helpful, and time-saving option.

To help with l.v. ties in this context, I created 6 short user scripts that add a reversed l.v. tie to a note – three different lengths, either above or below. You can put these scripts into the Script Plug-ins folder in your Dorico user config folder (c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Dorico 6 on Windows and /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 6 on Mac) and then invoke them from the Script menu to quickly add a backwards second ending tie to a selected not…

That would definitely be a useful addition. While it is possible to adjust the LV tie position manually in Engrave mode, having a built in option to place it before or after the selected note would make the workflow much faster, especially when working with repeated structures like 2nd endings or codas. Small improvements like this can save a lot of time during engraving.

Thanks, Charles! I hadn’t found @asherber’s post about that. I’ll give that a go. Hopefully, the great folks at Steinberg will make this an option at some point in the future.
