FR: Make automation reduction smarter

Hi,

I find myself always cleaning up real time writes of automation. Mostly because I’m really anal about stuff but also because I don’t find the automation reduction function very useful.

Here are a few ideas:

  1. Prioritise if the level has been static for a while in a automation write pass.
  • If I write autiomation and just sit on level for, say 10 seconds, and then resume moving the fader later. That level I found is the level I want. Not a ramp over 5dB because Nuendo decided to remove the "anchors of that perfectly horizontal line…
  1. Give us easy control on how much reduction we need after each write.
After a write, It would be cool to call up a fader/knob and quickly adjust how much reduction that is needed after the fact.

What do you think?

Best regards,
Johannes

1 If I understand (but I’m not sure) write to end is your best friend.
2 choose the good reduction value, and half it.

Yeah, fair enough (Number 2)!
Thanks,
Johannes
