I’ve recently become acquainted with the Paste > Explode function and have realised what a significant time-saver it can be: writing music on a single staff and then exploding it onto the staves below.
However, in Page View, when Players hold multiple instruments, the function doesn’t explode to the visible staves immediately below. Instead, it pastes to the adjacent instruments in the underlying score order, including instruments held by a Player that are not currently visible. Once material has been exploded onto one of these hidden instruments, that instrument becomes visible because it now contains music. Further copy-and-paste operations are then needed to move the material onto the intended staves.
I wonder whether it might be more intuitive if, in Page View, Paste > Explode targeted the instruments that are currently visible, rather than those adjacent in the underlying score order. That behaviour would seem more consistent with what the user sees on screen and would make the feature even more efficient when working with multi-instrument Players
