As I’m in the process of creating a part for the keyboard player of my band from a lot of other parts I composed (made a layout for those, will have to do the same for all our songs), I was thinking how cool and a time saver it would be to have a tool similar to the comp tool of Cubase : we could select different passages/bars of different instruments of a layout then have them all merged into a new player.
I’m not familiar with the Cubase feature, but it sounds like Paste Special / Reduce would be useful for you here. You could select other parts, then when you go to paste them into the keyboard part, use the Reduce feature.
Here’s an example of what I meant : we would be able to select regions/bars from different instruments like this screenshot then with a right click or shortcut merge them to a new track
This is already possible. Make a selection (use ctrl-click to add non-contiguous elements) - copy it and edit>paste special>reduce into your new track.
