Right now we have a 3-zone system.
- Zone 1: no vertical justification
- Zone 2: vertical justification between staves and systems
- Zone 3: vertical justification only between systems
What I propose is:
- Zone 1: no vertical justification
- Zone 2: vertical justification between staves and systems, including top and bottom system margins.
- Zone 3: vertical justification between staves and systems
- Zone 4: vertical justification only between systems
For pages filled at around 50-65%, after Dorico applies justification to staves and systems, I always end up increasing space before the first system, and after the last system. The fastest way is usually to adjust the music frame top and bottom margin, then everything scales proportionally.
