Presumably a bug and I can’t see anyone else having mentioned it yet…
Can you provide a bit more information? As bug reports go, this has to be one of the poorer ones I’ve seen
If you can spend a minute or two longer to describe more fully what you’re doing, what you expect to happen, and what is actually happening, that’s helpful to us. You’ll get bonus points if you attach a simple, minimal project that allows us to reproduce the problem.
I’m not sure whether you mean borders on text items, or borders on text frames, or something else? (Both of which appear to be working fine for me.)
Sorry, yes, got distracted and pressed post instead of minimise. See image attached
I’m using an empty text frame with 0 height with a border to create a thin line under my editorial notes. I’ve tried increasing the border weight, adding some height to the frame, and putting some text in, nothing works. Either when holding \ to print preview or in the final PDF that is produced I get no line…
Palestrina, Giovanni Pierluigi da - Martinae celebri - SATB.dorico (2.8 MB)
And here’s the file…
Right, I see. It’s because the frame has no text, I think. Definitely a bug – I will take care of it.
Beautiful work!
An alternative would be to just create a line on the top stave with the lines panel and move it up.
Yes of course short term, but the frame is part of my standard template
My Dorico 6 also has borders that have disappeared, but these have content. My Title Page template has a border around the edge that’s now missing from my print in all projects:
Here’s a sample project
TEMPLATE Musical.dorico (1.5 MB)
…Actually, I guess the outside frame itself doesn’t have any text in it – just other frames
I went to one of my compositions that used such borders and added a space to activate the outer border on that title page set. Is this something that can be rectified by the Dorico Team in a future update?
I think this (or something similar) has been reported already.
Yes, and I noticed on another post that Daniel has said it will be corrected.
Hitting the same issue here. I have set up a template with a bordered text frame that contains text in the template. Even if there is a text setup in the page template, border still does not print. But adding space or new text from outside of the template to that frame makes the borders appear.
