Freeze issues

Hello everyone. Recently, I started experiencing some issues like freezing, crashing and slowness in general. I attached a diagnostics here, but this project for example, it takes a few minutes for the playback/audio to be enabled when the project is opened. It freezes during playback as well as scrolling, inputting and general process. It also takes a while to just save the file, sometimes it takes a few minutes.

My computer is MacBook Pro M2 Pro, 16GB memory, 12-Core CPU and 19-Core GPU 14"

It would be much appreciated if you could share your insights and recommendations!

I can’t seem to upload the AudioEngine folder in the diagnostics as it still exceeds the maximum file size for upload even after compressed…

Can you save it to a Dropbox-type site and post the access address?

Yes! Here is a dropbox link for the diagnostics zip file. Thank you!

Hi @Takumusic,

thanks for the data. Indeed, the project that you are working on is in a quite “funny” state and it is no wonder that it is very slow. The audio engine has to load 126(!) instances of NotePerformer and 75 instances of an unknown instrument. Then the audio engine additionally creates over 2000 instrument return channels for them, so you see, this project simply overwhelms your computer.
I assume that you did not deliberately create such a gigantic project setup, but let’s put that aside for the moment.
If you apply the Silence playback template and after that your default playback template, does it behave better then? If not, please post another diagnostics report.

Thank you so much for your help with this issue, Ulf! I have no idea how that happened… but I think the issue is solved by your suggestion and it’s working fine now! I really appreciate it.

You are welcome
If it is working now, then there is no need for me to look at the diagnostics any more. Have fun with Dorico.
