Hi all !
I have a problem with Cubase Artist 13. I will try to describe the problem precisely so that you can help me. My Stereo Out output track is simply blocked. The problem is that I did not notice when it happened so I can not evaluate the origin. I had put a limiter on it which I no longer have access to. It is surrounded by red and there is no way to open or delete it. Thinking that it came from an incompatibility with a VST (I mainly use Spitfire Audio SSO and UVI synths for this project), I removed them from the output routing but it did not work. I tried to recreate a brand new output track, but it is blocked in the same way. Just in case, I am on Windows 10 and my sound card is a Motu M2. Hoping that someone has already encountered this problem and can help me solve it.
I am at your disposal for additional information if necessary.
Thanking you in advance.
Is Constrain Delay Compensation activated by any chance? It is a tiny icon at the bottom left of your project window.
Bingo! I didn’t know about this button. I’ll find out what it’s for. I must have accidentally pressed it. Thank you so much! You saved my life!
You’re welcome!
Constrain Delay Compensation temporarily deactivates all plugins that cause noticeable latency like in your case a limiter. A limiter works best if he can look ahead in order to deal with peaks in the best possible way.
CDC is a really handy option if you want to track something without too much latency. In other words, you can hear the processed signal coming back from your DAW almost immediately which makes tracking so much easier.
Ah OK! Thanks for the explanation. I’ll move on to the practical work to hear it, that way I’ll fall asleep less stupid tonight. Thanks again.
