How can I freeze an FX track? I have a delay plugin insert on an FX track that seems to cause CPU overload when enabled & the only way to play the track is to bypass the plugin. Yes, I am set to maximum latency.
Does it really make sense to freeze an FX track ? This would mean you can‘t adjust any send levels to that track anymore while it‘s freezed.
But can you give more information about your configuration ? Computer, cubase version, which delay plugin, … ? I can‘t believe, that a delay plugin would be the reason.
It was the Steinberg Studio Delay plugin causing the issue here. I have not had a plugin so obviously cause an issue but the test was pretty clear: plugin enabled, song won’t play….plugin disabled, song plays.
I have resolved it by adding the Studio Delay plugin to my Vox Group channel, copying the volume automation of the effect from the FX track to the plugin on the group track, then removing the FX track:
