Menu Edit / Range / Cut time is badly translated on the French user interface into “Alla Breve”.
It should be “Couper l’intervalle”.

Indeed "Alla breve " is italian.
Yes, looks like the term “Cut Time”, as in 2/2, was conflated with the verb to cut time, as in delete a certain amount of time in a passage.
