It would be very useful for me to be able to add frequency markers that reappear for each new ARA2 instance.
There’s a few good use cases:
1.) Sometimes we are working with material that is chopped up (and ARA2/Spectralayers performs better with small chunks anyways) but certain problems persist at certain frequencies throughout all these events.
2.) Sometimes a multi-mic’d source, for example a vocal mic + guitar mic performed together, obviously will/could have the same problems in both mics. Usually a problem in one mic is louder/more visible than the other, so you could use the more visible mic to mark where those frequency based problems are, then scoot over to ARA2 the other mic, and the markers appear.
I’d like the ability to hide (not delete) individually each frequency marker.
I think Spectralmarkers would be even more useful if you could save a selection and its settings to/with the spectralmarker.
ie, combining Save Selection and Spectralmarkers into one feature.
This would be much more efficient than saving individual selections.
- Again, useful for working with multi-mic’d sources
- Recalling work to try alternate methods of remediation
- teaching tool
All markers/individual should be able to have a creation parameter of being local to the event being edited at hand, or project global (they will re-appear with each new ARA2 instance). If you wanted to get fancy, there could be multiple options:
- Local (ARA2 event at hand)
- Track Global (will only re-appear on the same track)
- Project Global (will re-appear across all tracks)
These settings could be edited per marker after the fact of being created.
This would require ARA2/Spectralayers to create some sort of project/track global data file in the project folder.
