Despite not having the time right now to organize, record, etc. each and every one of the various bugs I’m facing in SL13, I’d like to start this thread so we can start to build this collectively ASAP because frankly the situation is unsustainable, unfortunately.
Of course the new features are indeed great, they are, but I’m finding this version very unstable, and it wasn’t like this in SL12 (despite also having bugs).
Im getting frequent crashes (the worst), cache bugs (audio events get mixed up), UI bugs such as cursor not changing for tools, random changes in display settings, modules defaulting to old chain values and not updating, I’m getting selection bugs (brush selection gets choppy and doesn’t work sometimes), reconstruct bugs, undo bugs, I’m having to unselect after processing before I can do anything, I’m getting random “unselect” history events that make it impossible to Redo, etc.etc.
It’s an unhealthy amount of bugs. I have to finally, publicly, give it to @Sunnyman . You are right.
As soon as I can I’ll organize everything I’ve found so far. But if we could start with those who can right now, then @Robin_Lobel can take a look into them sooner than later.
What have you found so far? All bugs are welcome, including stuff that’s already been reported in other topics.
Hi @henrique_staino except for the last 2 selection issue you mention (that were mostly specific to ARA and are now fixed in upcoming patch 2), and the undo issue in ARA that I wasn’t able to repro, it’s the first time I’m hearing about the other issues you encounter.
I suppose they are all happening in ARA mode, on Windows ?
Are you able to describe a precise step-by-step to repro each reliably ?
I still have a couple days before patch 2 gets frozen.
@henrique_staino when I was having crash issues I started recording every session of SLP using OBS studio. That said, @Robin_Lobel fixed the issues and I then stopped having issues. I’m just saying maybe screen recording will help you see where things go wrong and might make crash conditions easier to share.
Yes I know there is a correct way of reporting bugs, thats exactly why I said I don’t have time right now to do it that way, and haven’t exactly reported bugs here. I just complained about them heheh!
That’s also why I started this post, in an attempt to have other users who perhaps can do it right at the moment luckly report the same bugs I’m having.
But it seems it hasn’t worked, and a mod even changed the title to my post. It happens I guess.
Whenever I have time I’ll report them correctly and pray.

I’m glad to know you fixed the selection issues already!
Unfortunately I can’t find the time to properly make a step-by-step guide for reproducing the bugs, specially cause many of are intermittent. I haven’t had the chance to actually pinpoint what causes them.
I created this post in a (vain) attempt to get other users who might have been having the same issues as I am to post them here with the details since I really can’t stop to do that right now.
But I know it is very important to do that when reporting bugs and troubleshooting.

I hadn’t thought of just record my screen non-stop, so the bugs would be already recorded when they happen, with no need for me to attempt to reproduce them only for recording. It surely makes it much easier!
