FRESH OS, FRESH C7.0.4 crashes as soon as starts

Hi,

I have just installed 64 bit Windows 7 with 16 gb ram, and 7.0.4 cubase 7. As soon as I start cubase cubase crashes with the following:

  • I have tried installing OPENSSL
  • E-Licenser is the latest and yes the USB dongle is connected and working


    Any ideas?

what did you install before 7.0.4 ? 7 or 7.0.2 ?

OK this solved it :

" the problem lies in these two .dll files: ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll from C:\Windows
renaming them to inactive_ssleay32.dll and inactive_libeay32.dll solved my problem "


Steinberg should look at this because I have just installed the OS, updates etc and then Cubase 7. Couldn’t be more straighforward…and this lead to a crash…and the fix is to go and rename some dlls??? shouldn’t be this way…

I have solved the problem, but for your information I installed 7.0.0 and then 7.0.4

that’s one of the reasons 7.0.2 full installer was released for download :wink:
