Fried my UR22

As the topic states, I absentmindedly forgot to turn off phantom power when switching input devices, and now I get the popping and ASIO error and all that. The old UR22 is dead, long live the new UR22(MkII).

My question is: does there exist hardware that is better equipped to protect against such accidents. I’m usually pretty conscientious about it, but I really don’t want to shell out more money for another dead unit replacement. Are higher end Steinberg interfaces more forgiving? Any other manufacturers?
