Frist thoughts on WL9

  1. Wonderful user interface.

  2. The ribbon bar can’t be scrolled with the mouse wheel as standard in Windows programs. Could it be fixed?

  3. In the disposition options menu icon of the audio editor the latest group options shows “Abajo (Down)” instead of Group (spanish language)

  4. There are windows with re-size icon in which has not too much sense: the scan plugin window for example, DTMF generator and so on…

  5. It’s a pitty but once again the time code is not sent to a remote control device like Mackie Control. So you need to continuosly watch the screen monitor if you are on a remote control device. This is not like Nuendo, Cubase, Pro Tools, and so on “Pro” software do the remote control. In other words the remote control is far to be “Pro”

  6. Some translation to spanish still need to be fixed. For example in File, Explorer shows “All known file types…” instead of “Todos los archivos conocidos”

  7. Some buttons on the Transport Bar shows a small triangle when the mouse is over the button, but there is nothing you can do with clicking on this small triangel. I do not know it this triangel means anything but in other areas like Rende the small triangle means a new window appear.

Balance of my little review: a more than wonderful release. A must upgrade is recommended for any Wavelab user

For all these buttons, you can right-click to reveal a local menu. Note: this requires WaveLab 9.0.10.

My first impression after couple of minutes of playing with W9 was just WOW. I found one thing which could might be improved. I love the new master rig and modules in. I think if there would be pissibility to load into the chain external plugins it would make our lifes much easier. I know that we have plugin section on master channel, but if you want to add for example elysia alpha compressor before limiter in rig, you need to use another rig with the limiter in after the plugin in master plugin section. If you could do it everything in the rig, it would be more organised and simplier.
