Frontier Alphatrack -- My Latest Update on Cubase 11 Pro on Mac Mojave osx

Hi again John!

Thank you so much for your replies they are all very very helpful!

I will post a question about synsoac bundle file and see how it will go.

Regarding the 64bit sacrifice you are absolutely right!!

Thank you once again!

Theodore.

Yes please! please update me, after you fixing ‘synsoac’ <— bundle issue when attempting to boot in 32bit mode!

I am sure it is a easy fix

Side recommendation: I recently got myself a used Euphonix MC Mix daw controller and it is on another level of controlling. I highly recommend one, if you are serious about ‘Cubase’ daw controlling. (Old model is ‘the same’ as the new artist mix)

Good luck

Hi John!

Of course! Thank you for your interest!

Euphonix MC Mix is way to expensive for me…

Theodore.

I know! I could not afford Artist mix at the time but I happened to grab one ‘used’ faceplate-cracked MC Mix for very cheap. It is the same with the same Eucon software compatibility  When the time comes though! Anyways, hope it works!

Hi John!

synsoac bundle issue is finally over! I installed an older version of eLCC and Cubase Pro 8 opened in 32bit mode and guess! Alphatrack is working as expected in native mode!

Oh man! super happy for you Theodore!
Enjoy the alphatrack

May I ask how you fixed synsoac bundle issue?!

Hi John!

Of course!

Just removed the latest eLCC and installed version 6.11. Cubase Pro 8 opened in 32bit mode and set up Alphatrack as a DAW controller in its native mode!

Thanks for your interest,

Theodore,

Hello, any News on Apple Silicon?? Still works really great on Windows 11 24H2 and C13.0.41.

I had to ditch it… I don’t use it anymore… I just stick to Avid Artist mix … perhaps I can use it for focus control on cubase 13 or whatnot. But, yeah… no hope for driver update on that! ha…

Oh,its a shame. That is why I have not bought the unofficial driver for Apple, which although it seems to work, is limited in functions. If it continued to improve, of course I would buy it.

Yeah, with its native function, alphatrack is amazing for Cubase users, but with generic HUI functions without channel EQ parameters and VST parameters… it is indeed valueless compared to controllers in 2024… just utilize it as much as you can with MIDI remote function on newer cubase on mac

hello, I am a bit dissapointed that I could not get my mac pro 6,1 to recognise the alphatrack no matter how hard I try, it seems that the hardware does not recognise it, it’s a shame because this is a really good controller, it still works perfectly on windows 7 on my old PC with cubase 8 but not so with cubase 13 on mac os 12, on my mac system it’s a hardware not software problem, I even installed the custom sysex code which has all the midi maps in CB13 but it’s like it’s not there, I’m wondering if it could be to do with USB3? is it worth trying to get a USB3 to USB2 adaptor or should I just give up?

Why not? for your mac, it could be worth it! For me, because I had to constantly update my systems, I just had to give mine up…

But yes, alphatrack was ahead of its time for sure, esp for cubase users huh  hehe

I wish someone like Neverick (someone who customised old DAW controllers to work for current system, e.g. Control 24, C24 etc) could reverse-engineer all of old digital controllers haha…

I ended up getting the presonus faderport v2 controller, it’s a good replacement, it works well on mac in cubase 13 with a custom script.

little update for Alphatrack owners: I have a few bulky controllers now -

  • Control 24 with V-control
  • Softube console 1 mk2
  • Avid Artist Mix
  • Alphatrack (that I have not been using for a minute)

So for anyone who is looking for One-fader ‘focus’ function, alphatrack would be fabolous!

Lately I’ve been using it as one knob focus tool with its one quality fader and have been serving me good

I actually ‘did’ set other knobs and buttons for cubase channel EQ section but um, yeah, for daily intuitive use, this one fader <— is the one that I cannot live without!

Quick and easy.
Never though I would find handy huh

Again, ‘Midi-remote’ saved a lot of ancient MIDI tools

Presonous would do even more I am sure.
