After seeing some videos about parallel processing ( multi threading ) architecture like the CUDA one, i was wondering, if a sound engine can be entirely based on a parallel architecture, like every VST own a unique processor, like using the CUDA architecture as a big processors rack…
I think this could lead to a very responsive system, with a huge impact on the system response and latency…
But this is a feature for the R&D team for the future of the sound
And it’s not the first time, sound people borrow technologies from video people, we have already stolen the 44100hz sampling rate, so why not some processors
