Fully diminished (add maj7)

I’m entering “Gdim7addmaj7” into the chord popover, and it comes out like:

Go7(add#7)

when I want it to look like:

Go7(add maj7)

What am I doing wrong?

"#7” feels wrong to me, because 8.

You might have to change the appearance under Library→Chord Symbols. I have some different settings, but…

Ok… I’m at that menu, but I cannot figure out (even after watching Dorico’s HowTo video) how to replace the “(add#7")” with the “triangle7”.

Could you share the file? You can pm it if you prefer.

Is this what you want?

Which, under certain circumstances, could be expressed as an F#7/G, right?

Yes.

I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to this forum… Is the .dorico file something I should click and download as a fix to my issue? Thanks for your patience.

You download it by clicking the link. If you then open it, open the Library→Chord Symbols, select the chord override, and click the star in the lower left panel to save it as default. Finally, reopen your own file, and you should now have it as a default for that chord.

Opened the file. This popped up. Am I going to jack anything up?

(I’m using a ScoringExpress template for my project, if that matters.)

Probably, but I’m arranging someone’s 3 horn arrangement into a full big band arrangement, and I’m trying to keep everything as close to what they wanted in the first place. Maybe it’s silly of me, but…

Not silly: we all have to use our best judgment what will communicate the material most clearly to the players. Different contexts may require different approaches.

Sorry about that, here it is with Dorico’s default fonts. I pm:d you your file. Only problem is that I don’t have the scoring express fonts, so not sure how the edit looks.
