from 7.31 onwards, the narrator seems to be right clicking to access the menus, this is not happening in cb 8 , is the only way to do this by going to the "audio menu at the top of the menu list and processing from there, or is there a way to right click to access the menus?

Ctrl+right click.
He is using the extended tool box.
Alternatively, in Preferences/Editing/Tools is the option for Pop-Up toolbox on right click.
If you untick this you will always get the menu you are seeing there.
