GA SE 6 update removed vstsound file – will it affect GA 5?

Hi, I have Groove Agent 5 (full version) and Groove Agent SE 6 installed on my DAW.

Steinberg Download Assistant recently offered me an update for Groove Agent SE 6. According to the description, the update was supposed to affect only the application and not the content.

However, after installing the update, one item disappeared from my library:
FCP_SMT_144_GA_Presets.vstsound

I would like to ask:

  • What exactly is this file?

  • Why was it removed if the update did not include content changes?

  • Will this file now be missing in Groove Agent 5 as well?

Steinberg Library Manager does not report any missing content or other issues, but I would like to understand what happened.

Hi, I did a bit of digging and testing and found that the file FCP_SMT_144_GA_Presets.vstsound is related only to Groove Agent SE, not the full version of Groove Agent 5.

When installing only the full version of GA5 (without Groove Agent SE from Cubase), this file does not appear in the library at all.

So everything is OK, in case anyone happens to run into something similar.

EDIT: Now I see that after installing GA5, the file did appear, but it was immediately moved to the trash.
