About a week ago I noticed a whole pile of .wav samples in my CB15 audio folder that were samples I loaded into my Groove Agent pads. Didn’t seem to be doing this before I did a full reinstall of my Mac OS and all my programs about a month ago. So, I went into settings, in Editing-Audio, and under “On Import Audio Files” I unchecked 'Copy All Files to Project Folder" and all other options in that section are unchecked as well. I erased all those .wav samples that were in my audio folder and restarted my song, then re-linked all the samples in my GA layouts and saved the song, all seems good. But when I do a ‘Backup Project’ to another location, it saves all those .wav samples into the audio folder of the backup. What am I missing here? There must be a setting that’s causing this.
This is actually a feature that I amongst others was asking for. The idea is to have all necessary samples available in the new project when using Backup Project. The same should be true for Cubase’s Sampler and for Drum Machine. I haven’t tried Padshop or Halion 7 yet.

If you don’t want the samples, but just the project file backed up, why use “Backup Project” at all?
Just copy the project folder somewhere.
It’s not that I don’t want ANY samples, I want all the audio in the project but not every sample that I have loaded in GA layouts. I’m a film composer and on a series where you have 30 to 40 cues per episode, the size of the backups can start to add up. I think it would be great to have an option to choose if you wanted to save these samples in the project or just reference them.
