Gain/Attenuation shortcuts for Eraser/Gain Tools? + FR: Mouse Wheel Modifier targets for size/etc

Are these missing or am I looking for the wrong thing?

Also, I’d like to see Mouse Wheel modifiers be able to target things such as Tool Size/Aspect Ration/Hardness/etc

Thanks

It work here if I right click those tools and roll the mouse wheel over the little dialog box that opens.

contextual menu

something else I seldom use…these contextual menus seem to require just the right user input to to open or easily adjust params IME

SO there isn’t one for attenuation/gain, because it’s not in the context menu either.

modifier mousewheel would still be quicker than contextual menu as well. It allows more continuous modification on the fly instead of opening/closing contextual over and over again. There’s a limitation to mouse wheel modifiers though, so the contextual menu is great for additional changes.

hmmm, When I engage the eraser (attenuation) or amplify tool (gain)>

right-click in the spectral display and I get a contextual menu with the brush parameters

as @Marshall said

what is missing in contextual pop-up is the attenuation and gain amount parameters

and, really, if I’m using the contextual menus, I would want my brush presets available in the contextual menu…as it stands users gotta mouse up to the tool bar

I always recommend reWASD for creating your own shortcuts and mapping them to a dedicated shortcuts keyboard (reWASD differentiates devices by make/model, so you can map “A” in a specific keyboard to output “ctrl+shift+A” or whatever into a program. That means you have endless possibilities for shortcuts. You can have a keyboard with a scroll wheel for example and set that to output “) “and ” (“ and map that to increase and decrease a parameter, for instance. Or you can add modifiers to your mouse scroll, etc.etc.

This way you can program a shortcut that will change your scroll output into any program, and then you just map that into whatever you want. You don’t need the program to have modifier keys built in, you make your own.

Of course, the program needs to have that parameter ready to be mapped to a keystroke, but after that its all very easy to do.

reWASD runs unobtrusively in the background and is very stable, and not only that, but it is cheap and extremely customizable.

Another strong recommendation is Razer Tartarus Pro. Its got several layers for the keys, a scroll wheel and its own remapping system.
