When activating the ‘position left of notehead’ property for a fingering and the target note has an accidental, I get this:
In Engraving Options > Accidentals > Gaps there is only ‘Gap to the left’ which I have set to 1/8 and it doesn’t seem to influence this.
In Fingering > Position the settings are referring to the fingering themselves and reducing the ‘minimum horizontal gap between fingering and other item’, which I have set to 3/8, affects also other fingerings which then collide with the notehead.
Is there a specific option I may have overlooked or should I just offset the fingering to the right?
