Garbled audio in Dorico

Dorico was working well on this computer, but the computer had a memory problem which has now been corrected with new memory.

Along the way, the playback in Dorico became garbled, however an audio export of the same score plays fine (on the same computer). This is not limited to a particular instrument or project file. Also, the HALion virtual synth works fine under the control of my DAW. But, I am also quite sure that the playback tempo from Dorico on this computer is slower than the specified tempo (but not in the export). I cannot find any setting I might have changed to cause this. Also not the case in the exported audio.

I am attempting to reinstall Dorico, but I getting Download Assistant to Sign In is troublesome - sometimes I get a message to launch it from the browser, but I am not getting that now - when I start Download Assistant, I just get a Sign In button, but clicking it does nothing.

HELP

Hi @jim6 ,
there is no need to reinstall Dorico in your case.
Please go to Edit > Device Setup, which ASIO driver is chosen there with you?
Also, try to change the Sample Rate to a different value, wait a few seconds and change back to the previous sample rate. How is the playback then?

Thanks much!! It was on the generic low latency ASIO instead of my Focusrite interface. I didn’t even need to mess with the sample rate. No telling what kind of crazy things might happen when the memory is funky - now with new and twice as much memory all is well.

I use a Focusrite Scarlett USB Audio interface. I works great-most of the time. However, every once in a while, my audio becomes garbled and I have to unplug then reconnect my Focusrite interface to fix it.
