Hi.
Following the link
Edit- Notation- Chord symbols and diagrams
I was able to insert chords whilst I was checking my score.
Now I am ready to print out my score but how do I REMOVE the chord symbols from my score? I know how to add them but I cannot see any instructions for removing them.
Thanks
Hi.
In setup mode, make sure all players have Hide chord symbols when you right-click them>Chord Symbols>
You might need to have the Layout option>Chord symbols and Diagrams>Show chord symbols: set to Above specific players’ staves in order for this to work.
Or simply select them all (select one with your mouse, and cmd/ctrl-shift-A three times) and press delete.
Hi Marc.
I got it now.
I was thinking that there must be a way to remove them all at the same time but I see that you have to select every instrument individually.
Many thanks.
Nigel
Select all. (CTRL/CMD + A)
Use the Edit > Filter to choose the chord symbols.
Press DELETE.
The implementation of this feature honestly isn’t thought through that well. As you’ll most likely want to include a lot, if not all, instruments in the selection, but certainly don’t want all those instruments displaying chord symbols, this does present a time consuming problem for the user.
An often-used workaround is to add a Piano (or an additional one) to the score. Select all, copy, then Paste Special / Reduce into the new Piano part. This will of course usually look terrible but don’t worry about appearance right now. Now select the entire Piano part you just reduced into, and run Generate Chord Symbols from Selection from the Piano reduction. Make sure the chords are appearing in at least one other instrument, then delete the Piano part you added for the reduction. You’ve now gotten a decent set of chord symbols and don’t have to waste time changing the display status for every single instrument in your score.
