Generic Remote - feedback to virtual midi - posible?

as title says.
I wonna converts generic remote to viartual midi, for further usage

Use a virtual midi port, like Loopmidi, and make that the output of the G.R.?

That’s what I try first.

But if I choose in MIDI OUT of Generic Remote, virtual midi cable, nothing happened.
Midi in - works, ok.
Midi out - cubase doesn’t send any data.
For virtual midi, I’m using Bome midi translator pro, also monitoring midi data

Try it with a different Virtual MIDI cable?

You don’t need Loopmidi, Bome comes with its own virtual midi ports.

What are you actually trying to do?

Thank Steve & Raino for help

What I want, is to understand what cubase sends when I active channel strip (noise gate, compressor, LC,HC,Pre, etc)
To map it at midi controller

You should set up the control in the Generic Remote, and watch a midi monitor to see what is sent out when you change the value in Cubase.

Probably i do something wrong…
Installed MIdiView,

selected their midi channel in Generic Remote MIDI Output - noting
Selected MidiView in MCU midi out - they show only Fader & Pan info.

Can’t figure out how to get feedback from cubase channel strip :frowning:

Try in the GR, not MCU.

  • Set up a line in the lower pane to adjust the control you desire.
  • move that control with the mouse
  • observe what comes in the monitor

Thank you Steve! seems i get feedback from Volume, but how to get feedback when i turn on/off compressor in channel strip ?
or, how to map on/off in GR ?

I don’t think channel strip, eq, and pre section sends out feedback to generic remotes.

It’s alive! :ghost:

Oh, nice one Steve, good to know. Cheers mate.

C’mon man.

  • Set up a line in the lower pane to adjust the control you desire.
  • move that control with the mouse
  • observe what comes in the monitor

(You also have to include “Transmit” in the upper pane)

Steve, I can’t figure out how to make it :expressionless:
Btw, how to activate them by midi? Not bypass

The module must be loaded – then the available commands are populated in the list:

Thanks Steve, now i understand what i’m doing wrong - I’m trying to get info when i activate module, thats why nothing happened.
as i understood, Cubase doesn’t send info when we On/Off any module in CS, or its limmitation of GR.

From here what i want (some already) implemented:
Bank 1 - Standart Compressor
Bank 2 - Tube
Bank 3 - Vintage
Switching banks - cant figure out how
all this, can be done with GR

but can’t understand how to activate each Module in CS
