Generic Remote just drops assignments randomly

Havent opened the remote editor other than reassigning when prefs get corrupted…but this morning I go to turn my headphones down which is on a hardware remote knob and wasnt working so I go over to the editor and voila some corruption

It was set to this

Hi,

The very same MIDI Message has been assigned (on the same MIDI Port) to both of the commads.

Hi Martin
Hope you are well!

?Not sure what you mean…this is 2 pictures of the same Generic remote showing the opened state vs what was there before

What Im saying is that

  1. I opened Cubase to a project I have been working on, that has had that assignment for months
  2. When I debugged and opened generic remote, it no longer had the “Phones” selected in category but rather the integer “12”
  3. I then resinstated the dropdown of “phones” instead of “12” and its back to how it was before

Just noticed that the same category of phones also had the mute set to “12” instead of the previously selected “Mute”

My question is…why?

No idea, beside the fact that maybe something went corrupted either in your defaults.xml file or in the involved generic remote definition .xml one, as it seems that your setup isn’t saved as it should.

Have you tried redefining the control assignation and immediatly exporting again the whole GR definition ? I always export any definition editing : hassle free until now, and since many years.

Yes have done many rebuilds from scratch but still doesnt answer why it can work faultlessly for 6 months and then suddenly this?

Hi,

Oh, now I understand…

After this, what happens if you open the Generic Remote again? Do you see “Ohones” or “12”? So was it only one-time error or can you always reproduce it?

Seems to be one time
