Hello,
I’m having the hardest time setting my Genos 2 up with Cubase 14 Pro to multi-record several MIDI tracks simultaneously into Cubase. I’m not new to Cubase, Genos or MIDI but for some reason I can’t get this figured out. I’m using a Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 as my audio interface but use all MIDI settings directly to and from the Genos and Cubase via USB connection. I’m also using an Allegro 3 as a keyboard controller as it has 88 semi-weighted keys as opposed to the Genos 2 which has 76 plastic ones. Can anyone show me the correct routing settings for all of this? Many thanks in advance! Daryl
So, you are only playing the Allegro and want to hear the Genos? And what are you referring to as ‘multi-record’?
Thanks for responding. Yes, I want to record the Genos in Cubase using the Allegro keyboard. By multi-record, I mean recording each of the tracks from the Genos separately into Cubase at the same time. i.e. bass track from Genos records by itself to a track in Cubase, piano track records by itself to a track in Cubase, etc. recording them all simultaneously.
I used to have a Yamaha/Cubase recording template that routed everything automatically when opened in Cubase (.cpr) But I’ve lost it and can’t for the life of me find it again on Yamaha or the internet. As I said, I’m pretty savvy with MIDI, I’ve been using it for years! I’ve been using Cubase for a few years too. But embarrassingly I can’t get this right! Thanks again for any advice. Daryl
Daryl,
Does the Genos have multiple audio outs? If so, each one would need to go to a separate audio in on your interface. Or does the Genos stream multi channel audio via USB? I haven’t used hardware synths for a while… I’m not sure what they can do these days.
I’m assuming that the MIDI is recorded in Cubase for each track.
