HOW do you get Dorico SE to work

I spend so much time on admin and trying to get things to work. The latest is trying to get Dorico SE to work. I have given up with the Nuendo score version and want to try something more independent and it is proving difficult/impossible to get this working. I go to ST Download assistant, install Dorico SE, which I understand to be free for 2 - eight lines, (though it seems to be the same download for all the Dorico versions) and then close the download assistant.
