My Cubase is lagging when I play guitar into it and I suspect that my laptop is just overloaded with old Cubase projects. How do I go about putting a bunch of Cubase projects onto a separate drive? And then how do I make sure all the files have been deleted from my computer afterwards? Is there some kind of trick to this? Thanks!
What’s your OS? And your audiointerface?
This shouldn’t cause any issues, I’d look elsewhere for the cause.
EG, has it just started to lag? Any recent OS updates? Plugin updates? Buffer size? Etc.

@Googly_Croft is right, usually this behaviour is caused for different reasons.
However, if there’s almost no more disk space available then this might very well cause some issues.
I would suggest to do two things:
- Open your old projects and use the Backup Project function to save it someplace else with just the files which are necessary.
- Delete the folders that contained these original projects. Make sure that no other project has used these folders before you hit delete.
