Getting rhythmic notation to play back?

Have written some harp passages as rhythmic notation after entering the notes I wanted to hear. Any way to hear them once I’ve converted to rhythmic notation? Have tried ticking the ‘playback slash notation’ box.

Hi @JJmus, how did you create the slash notation? Here the right workflow:

If this doesn’t work for you, please upload your Project, to see what is going on.

Thank you so much for the video…great to be able to follow the steps. For some reason I still can’t get it to play back. I’ve given the harp chords so it may be that it can only play back single notes? I will investigate and get back. Thanks once again

Have opened new file and written something - it works exactly as you say. Something must be wrong in my file…perhaps written in the wrong voice.

If you upload it, we can have a look.

Thanks Christian, will upload later

Hi Christian. Appreciate you having a look at the file. Its from bar 106 where I’d like to put rhythmic notation. I’ve roughly written the notes so they sound like strumming, but the harpist need only the rhythmic notation (harp pedals dictate the chord).

Hi @JJmus, and thank you for the file. All works as expected. (I use Note performer). The Playback option to Playback Slashes was deactivated in your project, activate it!:

(Maybe you can try also reapplying your Playback Template, after setting the slash Voices, but not sure if it is correlated).

Here the file that on my system plays as expected:

Hi Christian and thanks for taking the time.

I’d left Playback Slashes deactivated on purpose for you to start from scratch to see if you ran into the same problem.

Must be something to do with VSL as it works with your versions using note performer, but not in mine using vsl for some reason. I will try as you suggest and reload the playback template.

I’ve found a work around by using different noteheads and hiding the accidentals!
