Getting Tempo Markings In the Correct Spot

I want my tempo changes to show at the beginning of a measure but Dorico defaults to showing it at the end of the previous measure. Is there a way to change that or do I have to drag for every part?

If you attach the metric modulation to 1 32nd after the downbeat, it will appear at the beginning of the measure – but it will also break that multi bar rest!

FWIW, it’s usual to have these marks appear at the end of the previous measure. If the two bars were on the same system, it would be over the barline; in a case like this, it acts as a cautionary, just like the 6/8 time signature.

Dragging in Engrave mode will simply apply a “massive offset” to the attached position at the end of the system; so if your layout changes, the mark will still have that offset position, which may be miles from anywhere useful.

I’d agree with asherber that players usually want to see this at the end of the line.

If you really want this, you could use System-attached text, instead of a tempo mark.
